Outlook Express Setup

These instructions assume you have Microsoft Outlook Express installed.
To configure it please follow these steps:

1. Start Outlook Express. (click "OK" if a window pops up asking you to "browse for folder"). Skip to step 4 if the "Connection Wizard" pops up.

2. On the Tools menu, click Accounts,

3. Click the "mail" tab at the top of this window. If anything is listed under the "account" column, highlight it and click "remove".

Click "Add" and then "Mail...".  

4. The "Internet Connection dialog box" appears, fill in your name.

5. Click Next. Beside the E-Mail Address field enter your email address (username@torchlake.com)

6. Click Next . In the drop down dialog box, select “My incoming Mail server is POP3” - now fill in Chain O' Lakes Internet mail settings:  Incoming mail(POP3) server: torchlake.com, Outgoing mail(SMTP): torchlake.com (or you may use mail.torchlake.com)

7. Click Next. Fill in:  POP account name: login name only and the Password: Your password (lower case).

DO NOT SELECT " Log on using secure password authentication".

After this step, you may get a box that says "Congratulations, Click finish" If so, just click finish and you are done.

 

8. Click on Next twice. Choose "I will use my phone line" and Click Next, select "use an existing" and "Chain O' Lakes Internet" in the drop down menu below by highlighting it.

9. Click Next and then click on Finish.

10. Close out of all programs and double click the Internet Explore Icon.
