Important Information for New Customers:

BILLING PROCEDURE
Your due date is the day of the month you started your account with us. You will ONLY receive your first bill in the regular mail and after that just in your email. If you pay in 3, 6 or 12-month increments you will also receive a bill in the mail. You are due the day you sign up with us, so you must send in your first payment within a few days of activating your account. You may want to call us so we wont interrupt your service if your payment is going to arrive after your due date. Please be sure to always write your account number in the memo portion of your check. Also, there is a $3 late fee for delinquent payments. Access rates are $17/month or $96/6 months ($16/mo) or $180/year ($15/mo).

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CONNECTION
1) Our computer automatically disconnects you if there is 20 minutes of no activity with your connection to the internet (Examples: Reading a long email, writing a long email, reading a long webpage).
2) Things that do cause activity are sending email, receiving email, checking for email, and webpages loading. If writing a message is going to take over 20 minutes, just check for new messages or load a webpage every 15 minutes or so. Also, your email program may be setup to automatically check for mail every few minutes.
3) If you are being disconnected after 5 or 10 minutes for no reason at all, call us for tech support because you are having a modem compatibility or phone line problem.
4) For now, between the hours of 5-10pm you can only connect for 3 hours at a time without having to redial and connect again. This is done so you have a better chance of connecting in the evening.
5) No matter how much you use the Internet, you are never charged any more than the flat monthly fee.
6) You can read our acceptable use policy by going to
www.torchlake.com/usepolicy.htm

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (F.A.Q.)
Q. Why do I get the error message "Invalid user name or password (Error 691)" when trying to connect?

A. This message could mean that you have either typed your username or password wrong (make sure your caps-lock key is off because your username and password MUST be lower case), or our computer has disconnected you because of a delinquent payment or because you are trying to connect to the internet with 2 computers at the same time.

Q. How do I send & receive email?

A. When we initially walk-you-through setting up your computer, we also setup up your email program. To get into your email program, go through your start menu to programs and look for "Outlook Express" or "Internet Mail". You can also get into your mail program by clicking the mail icon (and then by clicking "Read Mail"), which is located near the upper right corner of your Internet Explorer window.
