Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
(R.C.I.A.)

A continuous process of journeying with unbaptized adults who wish to come into the Catholic Church. This is a year-round process and is completed only when the individual adults are prepared to make a permanent commitment to Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Ordinarily, this takes place on Holy Saturday night at the Easter Vigil Service. With our new immersion bapistry, the adult will walk down into the water on one side of the bapistry, have the water poured over the entire body, and will the walk out the other side to join the Catholic Community as they receive the other sacraments of initiation. Those interested in knowing more about the Catholic Faith, can begin their journey of faith at any time of the year.

McLaughlin Library

We opened a parish library in the old vestibule on the east end of our church and named it the McLaughlin Library, in memory of Father Jim McLaughlin, who died in 1997, while he was our sacramental minister.

The library contains over 1000 books. There are 140 books in the children's section, 281 videos and 100 cassettes (music and 12 talking books) on our shelves.  If you wish to make a donation contact hcross@torchlake.com.
