How to Become a Christian
God Loves you and has a great plan for your life!
He wants you to experience a full and abundant life - right here on earth. Jesus said:"My purpose is to give life in all its fullness."
But the fact is that none of us meet God's standard. We are all sinners. "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God." Romans 3:23
"As it is written, there is none righteous no not one." Romans 3:10
Because of sin, you are separated from God and from real life. "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." Isaiah 59:2
None of us are immune to God's judgement. "But the fearful, and unbelieving . . . and all liars shall have their part in that lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is that second death."
But there is HOPE! His name is Jesus! Christ died for you.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"But God commendeth His Love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
But the only way for Jesus to have an affect on your life is for you to receive Him. The Bible says, "But as many as receive him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name." John 1:12
Becoming a Christian is so easy a child can do it, but it is hard because we must realize that we cannot do it on our own.
It requires that turn from self and turn to God through Jesus Christ by faith.
The Bible says, "I kept back nothing that was profitable . . . testifying . . . repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 20:20,21
If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you can today! By turning from sin and placing your faith in Jesus.
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved . . .
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." John 10: 9, 13
If you feel God's call on your heart you may receive Jesus by faith as you pray. You might pray a prayer like this:
"Dear God, I know that Jesus is Your Son and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. I know that I'm a sinner. I realize that I can't make it on my own. Thank you for dying for me. Right now at this moment, the best I know how, I want to become a Christian by trusting you as Savior and Lord."
If you prayed that prayer you need to tell a christian friend and other, we would like to know too.
