What Is A Lighthouse Group?

A Lighthouse Group is a small group of believers who meet together in homes once a week for a time of fellowship, worship, edification from God’s Word, and prayer.  At First Baptist Church, we believe that in order for a person to truly grow deeper in his or her relationship with the Lord, it is important for him/her to get involved with a small group of other believers.  For this reason, we encourage each and every member to be faithfully involved in one of the Lighthouse groups located in or near your neighborhood.

How Does Someone Join A Lighthouse Group?

To become a member of a Lighthouse group, simply contact the church office at 616 533-6407 or email us. We will tell you about the group closest to you and will have a Lighthouse group leader call you with the time and location of the next meeting.  Once you have visited the group a few times, your Lighthouse group leader will explain the membership expectations and ask you to pray about becoming a member.  If you feel that God is leading you to join the Lighthouse group, tell your Lighthouse group leader and they will show you how you can become a permanent member of the Lighthouse group you have visited.  You can also get involved with a Lighthouse group through a friend or acquaintance who is already involved in a group in your area.

If you are not already involved, let me encourage you to get involved in a shepherd group A.S.A.P.  It is the heartbeat of the ministry here at First Baptist Church in Bellaire and it is the life style that we believe God has given us to reach our county, state, and world for Jesus, one family at a time.
